1. Summary (TL;DR)

We collect

Minimal technical data: anonymized page requests, browser type, device size, optional watchlist preferences stored locally in your browser.

We do not collect

Credit card numbers, phone numbers, or sensitive personal information. No "sign up" step requires your real identity.

We share

No personal data with advertisers. Player embeds are loaded from third-party providers governed by their own policies.

2. Data We Collect

  • Server logs: anonymized IP address, browser user agent, referring site, timestamp, and request path (standard web server data). Logs are rotated after 7 days for abuse detection only.
  • Local storage / cookies: we store a PHP session id and optional watchlist items (content titles you mark as "want to watch") locally via browser localStorage / session. No account creation is required to use the service.
  • Optional form submissions: if you send us a message via the Contact or DMCA page, we receive the name/email/message you provide.

3. How We Use Data

  • To operate and maintain the Service.
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical abuse, spam, or security issues.
  • To respond to support requests, DMCA notices, or legal inquiries.
  • To persist your preferences (watchlist items, recent playback position) locally on your device.

4. Third-Party Content

When you select a viewing server tab, the Service loads a third-party embed directly into an iframe. That provider may set its own cookies, collect data about you, and show personalized content or advertisements. We have no control over these providers and urge you to read the privacy policy of each embed site you interact with.

Meta information (posters, synopses, ratings) is fetched from public metadata APIs under their respective licenses.

5. Cookies

We use a minimal set of first-party cookies to remember your session and preferences. You may block cookies in your browser settings; however, some personalization features (watchlist sync) may not function correctly.

6. Data Retention

  • Server logs: deleted within 7 days.
  • Local watchlist items: stored indefinitely in your browser until you clear them via the Watchlist page or browser storage tools.
  • Inbound support/DMCA correspondence: retained for as long as necessary to resolve the inquiry and comply with legal obligations.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Submit requests via the Contact page or email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Moviey Now does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete the information promptly.
